Kelsey Shelton Smith-Briggs was born on December 28, 2002 at 10:00 p.m. She weighed seven pounds and was nineteen inches long. She was born in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.
Her mother was Raye Dawn Smith and her father was Lance Briggs. Her parents were divorced before she was born.
Her father was a United States Veteran. She lived with her mother and her stepfather, Michael Porter.
Her father was married to a woman named Ashley and at their wedding, Kelsey had so much fun! She loved dressing up,and was even called a mini bride. She really was a happy child. She loved dressing up all the time. She attended a few baby pagents, and won 'Miss Personality'. She loved movies, and her two favorites were Brother Bear and Shrek.
One of her other favorite things to do was play with her cabbage patch dolls. She loved them so much. She would twirl their hair around her little fingers at bedtime. It helped her fall asleep.
Kelsey was also very independant. It anyone tried to help her do something, she'd say "No, I do it."
She was known to be a 'biter'. One of her victims was Mandy, a puppy. After she bit someone, she would proudly state "I bite!"
She often bragged about her daddy, saying that he was a soldier, and was a very polite little girl. If you sneezed, she'd say "God bless you." and if she needed to get somewhere and someone was in her way, she'd say "Scuse me." (Excuse me).
Her favorite foods were pizza and pickles, and the day before she was killed, she surprised her mother by counting all the way to fourteen!
She died on October 11, 2005 at the age of two from blunt force trauma to the abdomen after months of being abused physically and sexually by her stepfather, Mike Porter.
